The man most responsible for the misspending of my formative years has died.

He is the reason I can find 5%, 10%, and 15% of any number almost instantly.

I blame him for my lack of social skills but multitude of proficiencies and secondary skills(if you understood that you are obviously in mourning as well).

He is the reason I occasionally mumble things like OoooOOoOOOo Natural 20, and oops rolled a 1 while watching COPS.

He is probably the reason I figured out I like telling people stories, and the reason I got better at it.

He is responsible for my more than passing knowledge of classical mythology, Roman military techniques, Celtic religious practices, aww hell he's the only reason I ever learned any of the cool interesting history that spices up a game and make the world seem like an amazing place sometimes.

For all you did for us, the geeks of the world salute you, Gary. I hope you are currently hoisting one with your pantheon of choice.
